Not really sure how many of these there are in the US. I think they’re damn cool.

They put the engine in the back. It was designed as a motor for a water pump on a fire truck I believe.

The throttle cable was messed up on the engine side. So I cut the cable on that side and backed some of the excess on the pedal off so I could slide the nut that connects to the throttle to cable. Now it has full travel on the throttle. But it doesn't run still, so the automatic choke which is problematic probably needs to be swapped for a manual one.

The former owner of my house used to be an Imp enthusiast. Here Imp was sold as Hillman but the sleeker looking coupe was sold as Sunbeam Stiletto.

The engine wasn’t designed as a truck mounted water pump engine but a portable pump engine that the firemen can carry close to the pumping area. That’s why it had to be light and compact.

That is awesome. I love stuff that you just don’t see, and this definitely qualifies. What does it have, maybe 15 horsepower?

Okay I looked it up. Thirty seven horsepower.Hey, that’s more than a first gen Beetle.  I need an Imp!
